Project B (Breast Cancer Awareness & Free Screening)
Project B is a breast cancer awareness and free screening intervention aimed at helping vulnerable women have access to the right information and knowledge about breast cancer, safety measures as well as screening opportunities over the next five years. It is worth noting that this project is a build-up on the 2022 breast cancer outreach which recorded a good impact and had a wide reach
Through targeted awareness campaigns, educational materials, and community engagement, we aim to bridge information gaps and empower these women to take proactive steps towards breast cancer prevention and early detection. We also aim to foster a supportive community that understands the importance of breast cancer awareness and actively works towards promoting the well-being of vulnerable women. By engaging with local organizations, healthcare providers, and community leaders, we seek to create a network of support that can sustain long-term efforts in raising awareness, improving access to healthcare, and ultimately reducing the impact of breast cancer on vulnerable populations.
PAC Foundation carried out a breast cancer campaign in commemoration of the 2022 month of global awareness on breast cancer. The campaign exercise was executed through; Online awareness and education: An intensive breast cancer education campaign was carried out across the foundation’s social media platforms. The campaign educated and equipped women on the various symptoms of breast cancer and how they can self-examine themselves to detect early any symptoms of cancer and prevent it. Over 21,684 women were reached through this campaign virtually. Free Examination: Underserved women were given the opportunity to have a free breast cancer examination. These women accessed breast cancer screening and mammograms.
